“Kizzy Matiakis, former principal dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet, is back at Dance Maze with a repertoire workshop focusing on the Hungarian wedding solo from Raymonda! The workshop will focus on both the technical and the expressive elements of this solo, giving dancers a chance to enrich their own ballet practice. Open to all levels, basic ballet skills are recommended.”

Beyond Boundaries: Discovering Authentic Movement with Dorotea Saykaly

Step into this contemporary dance workshop led by renowned choreographer and dancer Dorotea Saykaly.

With a rich and diverse background in movement exploration, Dorotea invites participants to break through their physical boundaries and unlock their authentic movement potential.

Through Dorotea’s carefully structured unique movement systems, participants will build awareness and technique, preparing the body for deeper exploration from floor work to standing dynamics.

You’ll have the opportunity to apply these tools to solos and learn set material from Dorotea’s repertoire, engaging with form, composition, and theatricality.

Whether you are a professional dancer or an adventurous mover, this space is designed for you to push your limits and discover new possibilities for your body.

Knee pads are not required but are suggested for ease.

African Contemporary Workshop with Julienne Doko & percussionist Paulo Villegas O.

December 8th
15:00 – 17:00

In these workshops, we will focus on the rooting principle, which enables us to be centered; connected with ourselves and our surroundings. We will look into some specific movement dynamics such as ripple, momentum, weight shift and foot action. The class is accompanied by live music.


All levels welcome, movement experience recommended.
